Welcome to Scavenged Shores! These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Scavenged Shores Minecraft server, its associated websites, Discord server, community platforms, in-game features, and any related services (collectively, the "Services").

By accessing or using Scavenged Shores, you agree to these Terms and any additional rules published for specific parts of our community. If you do not agree to these Terms, you must discontinue your use of the Services.

1. About Scavenged Shores

Scavenged Shores is a community Minecraft server operated by Scavenged Shores ("we", "us", or "our").

Our Services may include:

• The Scavenged Shores Minecraft server.
• Associated websites and online platforms.
• Community spaces, including Discord.
• In-game items, currencies, ranks, cosmetics, and other features.

2. Eligibility and Accounts

3. Player Conduct

All players are expected to help maintain a respectful, fair, and enjoyable community.

• Cheating, exploiting bugs, or using unauthorised modifications to gain an unfair advantage.
• Using exploits to duplicate items, manipulate currencies, or interfere with server mechanics.
• Spamming, advertising without permission, or disrupting chat.
• Impersonating staff or falsely claiming to represent Scavenged Shores.
• Sharing malicious links, malware, or attempts to compromise another person's account or device.
• Doxxing, sharing private information without authorisation, or threatening to do so.
• Attempting to crash, overload, damage, or disrupt the server or its infrastructure.
• Evading bans, mutes, or other disciplinary restrictions.
• Encouraging or assisting others in violating these Terms or applicable server rules.

Additional gameplay-specific rules may apply to PvP, griefing, raiding, trading, factions, survival mechanics, events, or other server features. Where applicable, those rules will be published separately.

4. Cheating, Exploits, and Unauthorised Modifications

Players must not use software, tools, modifications, scripts, macros, or other methods that provide prohibited advantages or undermine fair gameplay.

Permitted and prohibited modifications may be further defined in our published server rules.

If you discover a bug, exploit, or unintended game mechanic, you should report it to staff rather than abuse it for personal gain.

We may investigate suspected cheating or exploitation and take appropriate action in accordance with these Terms and our server rules.

5. Moderation and Enforcement

We aim to enforce our rules fairly and consistently. Depending on the circumstances, violations may result in:

• A verbal or written warning.
• Removal of content or restrictions on chat.
• Temporary suspension or ban.
• Permanent ban.
• Removal of illegitimately obtained items, currency, or other benefits.
• Restriction or removal of access to particular features.

The severity of the response may depend on the nature of the violation, its impact, the player's history, and any relevant mitigating circumstances.

7. Purchases, Donations, and Payments

Scavenged Shores may offer optional purchases, ranks, cosmetics, subscriptions, donations, or other paid features.

Before making a payment, you should review the description, price, duration, and conditions of the relevant offering.

Unless clearly stated otherwise, a donation is a voluntary contribution and does not necessarily provide a purchased benefit. Any benefits associated with a payment should be clearly described before the transaction.

For purchases:

• You must have the legal authority to make the payment.
• You must not use stolen payment details, engage in payment fraud, or abuse payment systems.
• You should retain your transaction confirmation and contact us if a purchase is not delivered as described.
• Any recurring payment or subscription must be clearly disclosed, including its price and renewal conditions.

Access restrictions or moderation action do not automatically create a right to a refund. However, this does not affect any refund entitlement or consumer right that applies under applicable law.

10. Player Content and Intellectual Property

You retain ownership of content you create, to the extent recognised by applicable law.

By submitting or sharing content through Scavenged Shores, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, display, reproduce, and use that content as reasonably necessary to operate, moderate, promote, and maintain the Services.

This licence is subject to applicable law and any additional permissions required for particular uses.

You must not submit content that unlawfully infringes another person's intellectual property, violates applicable law, or breaches our published rules.

Scavenged Shores names, logos, original artwork, custom plugins, and other original materials are owned by their respective owners and may not be copied, redistributed, or commercially used without permission, except where permitted by law.

Minecraft and any associated trademarks, game assets, and intellectual property belong to their respective owners. Scavenged Shores is an independently operated community and is not an official Minecraft or Mojang Studios service unless expressly stated otherwise.

11. Privacy and Personal Information

We may collect and process information reasonably necessary to operate and protect the Services, such as Minecraft usernames, UUIDs, chat messages, moderation records, connection information, and purchase records where applicable.

We will take reasonable steps to protect personal information and handle it in accordance with applicable privacy laws.

Players should not share passwords, payment details, home addresses, or other sensitive personal information in public community spaces.

Your use of those services may be subject to their own terms, policies, and privacy practices.

We do not guarantee that the Services will be free from every error, interruption, or security issue.

To the extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for losses arising from events outside our reasonable control or from a player's violation of these Terms.

Where applicable law permits a limitation of liability, that limitation applies only to the extent legally permitted.

14. Suspension and Termination

You may stop using Scavenged Shores at any time.

We may suspend or terminate your access where reasonably necessary, including for breaches of these Terms, security risks, fraud, abuse, or operational reasons.

Where appropriate and practical, we may provide notice or an opportunity to resolve an issue before termination. Immediate action may be necessary in serious cases.

Termination does not remove any rights or obligations that accrued before termination, or any rights that survive under applicable law.
